Day Trip to Ordubud

I have been asked by family and friends why I went to Azerbaijan and how in the world I got a job there. I also get a lot of questions of what it is like here. So, I will do my best to tell about my past and present here.

Day Trip to Ordubud

When i was living in Naxcivan, my friend from the Turkish Consulate invited me to go to Ordubud with her and her friends and their 2 year old daughter.  All three of the adults were learning to drive.  It made for what would normally be a somewhat short trip into a much longer voyage.  Ordubud is where Naxcivan, Armenia and Iran all meet.  It is a small and quaint place with some gorgeous views of the mountains in Iran and Armenia.  Being a guest of the Azerbaijani governement, I am not allowed to visit Armenia during my time here and being an American, getting into Iran is not that easy either.

Along the way we stopped at this resturaunt on the side of the road.  If there is one thing that I could say about the Naxcivan Autonomous Republic is they really make most of their roadside resturaunts into an event.  This place has a pond with a great view and excellent food that was very inexpensive.  For some reason I had a lot of fun photographying the frogs and geese.  I always really liked this place when i lived there.
