When we arrived, it was rather quiet... it was in a tent filled with heat lamps, torches and cushy couches. I followed a soft drumbeat to the rear of the tent and found contortionists sprawled across the stage, surrounding a sword swallowing demon. Two girls on stilts hovered over head and for a moment... I was in another world.
Following the Sword Swallower came belly dancers, burlesque troops, and fire breathers.
The place was decorated like the plushest parts of Hades and the drinks were cheap. It had all the makings of a great party except the tunes... redundant trance remixes BAD 70's songs. Yet I considered it a great experience... It was different than any other Halloween I could recall...
If they host one again next year... I might attend... unless the competition is good.
Either way, I would reccomend it to others... The hosting club was Mosaic at the Power Plant Live. Its right Downtown so its easily accessible. I believe they host various outdoor events throughout the year.
