Zacatecas, México - Patrimonio de la Humanidad
We decided to venture up north to visit my father´s hometown of Zacatecas, and decided to do so by, as they say here "en aventón", or in other words good old fashion "hitchhiking." And fortunately, we got to our destination safely without any real problems. It was a long journey, but people were generous enough to help out a couple of poor souls!! We were both pleasantly surprised by this cute colorful town. We were expecting an impoverished run-down place, but then saw the complete opposite. Definitely a place to visit if ever in Mexico! The people were extremely helpful and warm here as well. All around us we saw little old men in their sombrero hats . . . I was amazed at the authentic Mexican feel of Zacatecas. Absolutely no regrets of having ventured on the long journey to get here!
2
