Palmerston North, New Zealand
Memorable times in Palmerston North too!
Who would have thought that we'd be spending the night at a Hobbit's house!!?? Well, Steve, isn't actually a hobbit, per se, but he did play the role in the infamous Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
I'm not, actually, a big fan of these movies, but I have to admit that it was an honor to have met this gentleman! A neat experience, no doubt.
Arnaud was absolutely amazed and thrilled to be upclose and personal with our "hobbit" friend, Steve.
It was fun being able to hang out with someone who played in an actual Hollywood blockbuster, indeed, but I would have to say that it was even better getting to know the individual himself. Steve was awesome, and his family was pretty cool as well!
I, personally, really enjoyed having been able to learn about the various Maori traditions.
You see, Steve's wife, Jenny, is of Maori decent, and so was kind enough to share her culture with us that evening. Really interesting to hear about the traditions the family practices and maintains. We had the pleasure of holding an actual Wooden Maori 21st Key, which is given to Maoris on their 21st birthday, and illustrates the family's origins through it's carvings.
Loved the time we spent together, being exposed to such passion is always fascinating!!
