Goodness, were we ever gonna reach Banda Aceh??!!
We were beginning to think not, considering we’d been traveling for nearly 4 days by this point . . . and we only had a visa for 7 days!!!
Ok, keeping our fingers crossed, we’d eventually make it . . .
Luckily, hitchhiking was still working marvelously for us, so why lose hope!!
We ended up catching a ride from these fellas who were heading to a town called Sigley, which would have put us just about a couple hours from our final destination of Banda Aceh.
Unfortunately, the driver was a slime ball and started getting too touchy feely with me, so it turns out that we didn’t make it as far as Sigley after all.
Obviously I didn’t say anything to Arnaud while we were in the truck, out of fear of his reaction, so I just settled it my way, by elbowing him a few times and letting him know, "hands off buster!!!!!!!!"
Then for some odd reason, the alternate driver, wanted to take a break to sleep a bit, since they’d been driving all day and night.
So that was our chance to get out! I just said to Arnaud, "Are we gonna set up our tent here to sleep?!!"
Once out, I told him what the other creep of a driver was trying to do, and I was right, Arnaud was upset about the whole thing, telling me, "Why didn’t you tell me before??!!"
Anyway, we ended up pitching our tent right at the service station.
Weird thing is, as soon as these fellas noticed we were gonna rest in our tent as opposed to being all cooped up in the truck, they decided to take off, just like that! Very strange, indeed!!
I guess they figured no chance to feel up the non-Muslim chic!!!
Oh well!! Good riddens anyway!!!!!!!!
The following day would be another long one, but hey, when your cash is low, gotta rely on time!!!!!!!!!! :)
C’était pas encore fini, on allait jamais y arriver à Banda Aceh, le stop marchait terriblement bien mais les distances étaient trop importantes !!
