Cochabamba, Bolivia - View of Cochabamba

So we finally made it to Cochabamba, and lucky for us we had a friend here to host us. We had a blast with Lizzie, who was kind enough to show us around the town, and fill us in on all the cultural info needed to know about the folks here.

Apparently, the people here aren’t necessarily the nicest and are actually the worst in Bolivia.  Bolivians from other regions all seem to have the same opinion about the folks of Cochabamba.  Deceitful, mean, unfriendly, that’s all we heard about Cochabamba and its people.

But honestly, I personally didn’t get this impression; but then again I did witness my friend get verbally attacked by some woman at the market.

Cochabamba, Bolivia - El Christo Blanco

As for the city, we were pretty unlucky because the day we decided to visit the town (which was one of the only days it didn’t rain!!); everything was closed for some odd reason!!

We were, however, able to visit the Christ monument that is supposedly slightly bigger than the one in Rio de Janeiro.

That was fun, but a bit of a hike for us.  Mind you, practically all the cities in Bolivia, are elevated, including Cochabamba.  So of course, to walk up the hill where the monument is located, was a bit of a workout for us!!

Other than that, not too much else to say about Cochabamba.

Oh, we were lucky enough to be able to assist the pre-carnaval parades that were taking place in town.  Very different from what we can imagine about "Carnaval."  Still, I enjoyed myself and made sure to snap plenty of photos .

Cochabamba, Bolivia - Arnaud & El Christo Blanco
. . so enjoy!!!
