Quintana Roo, México - Cancún, Playa del Carmen, & Tulum
After a couple of weeks of roughing it, we headed to the beach, for a bit of well-deserved relaxation! So off we went to the beautiful beaches in the state of Quintana Roo! First stop, Cancún! We weren't planning on coming here at first, but then we figured, why not swing by really quickly to see what all the talk is about . . . not that impressed though! Actually, gotta admit that the beaches are nice, however the city's just another tourist trap. Just a place with hotels and a bunch of restaurants, that's it.
So we decided to set off for Playa del Carmen, which was supposed to be a lot less impersonal. And it was. This beach town was a lot cozier than Cancún. Not as developed, but still very cute. Very different feel here, for sure.
And still we wanted to get to a an even more chill place, so we headed to Tulum.
I'd definitely tell you to visit this small beach town, if you're looking to relax a bit. We decided to stay the night, and what better way than to crash on the beach, so that's what we did! Got a perfect spot too! No worries at all, just complete silence, and the sound of the sea! Very peaceful and relaxing!Definitely did us some good after all the distances travelled throughout Mexico! A great way to bring our adventure here to a close. Looking back at our time in this lovely country, can't really say we had any major setbacks; the people we met along the way were so wonderful to us, and we hope to see some of them again some day!
