Adventures in Colombia - Cartagena, Colombia
Colombia, the first country to be visited on our South American tour, and perhaps the most dangerous . . . scared for us yet?!! Nah! For sure, Colombia has been given lots of pretty bad publicity, and so has a very negative rep . . . the drugs, the FARC, the kidnappings . . . But hey, on a positive note, it's also home to the BEST coffee in the world! ;) Is that all?! Of course not! And that's what we intend on discovering during our time here.
First stop, Cartagena, which is located along the coast of Colombia, and a place NOT to be missed if ever coming this way. We got here pretty late, and found ourselves in a bit of a jam because we had no place to sleep for the night. Luckily, our little problem was quickly resolved . . . ready for this? We set up camp in a grassy area right next to the airport! The Colombians working there, thought we were nuts, but hey what were we to do?! It was really late at night, and hey, we didn't want to risk it by walking around with our huge backpacks .
The next morning, we set off, after being "nicely" awoken by the cops. Unforgettable! You just had to have been there!! After that, no worries, Arnaud did his job and found us a place to crash, right near the beach! Check out the pics!!!
As far as Cartagena, absolutely a must-see if ever in Colombia. The people were grand, the beaches cute, and the sights beautiful. As we walked around the historic center of this gorgeous walled city, we were taken away by its beauty. The architecture, as colorful as its inhabitants. Such warm, welcoming, and vibrant folks here in Cartagena. Truly loved it!!

Pour la suite encore une fois pour voir si j avais pas perdu la main :) , cette fois s etait un peu plus difficile: un dimanche a 8h du mat pour trouver une maison? J ai mis le temps, et j ai ete patient, a 5m de la plage, c est pas beau ca! On a pu apres visiter la ville tranquile, et tres joli, propre, comme tjrs des gens sympas qui essayent de nous aider sans qu on leur demande. Je pensais vraiment que ca aller etre comme ca, je vous le conseille!!
