Bella Coola wins hands down for the most stunning place we have seen so far, the scenery in Bella Coola is absolutely breathtaking. The air is fresh, and you can drink the water straight out of the mountain streams. We saw plenty of Eagles and large, colourful spawning salmon. The area has a high concentration on Grizzly Bears, but fortunately or unfortunately we didn't see any.
The locals thought we were kinda of crazy because we did not have a vehicle, you could say that Bella Coola is remote. Fortunately plenty of folk were kind enough to offer us lifts, and we arranged two days out with Grizzly Island Tours. Although plenty of people asked us why we were going to Bella Coola, we found the remoteness to be relaxing, and if you looked there was plenty to see and do.
Some of the simplest things were the best: like sliding down on the snow, in the sunshine, or looking at the stars. As there is virtually no light pollution it was possible to see more stars than we have ever seen, including a couple of shooting stars and the Milky Way.
Bella Coola had everything we needed and more, without all the usual STARBUCKS ect. It's without doubt a great place for photographers, hikers, skiers and anglers alike, but it's because Bella Coola isn't full of tourists that it is still a very special place.
