Survived Skydiving
September 3, 2007
Cheap thrills but not cheap on safety. Skydiving in Taupo is the least exspensive place to go in New Zealand. At $220 you can get your self thrown out of a plane at 12,000 ft. It was completely wicked, exhilerating, unbelievable, surreal, etc. I don't even know if there are words to describe what it felt like to plummet to the Earth and survive. My two Irish pals and I made the plunge from that plane with our jump guides. They were all adrenalinatics....freakin' awesome! My tandem instructor, Eric, had been doing this for 15 years. Can you believe it? I could have gone to 15,000 ft and gotten a DVD but I am on a budget.....so I did the "budget" jump. Which was still a thrilling ride. I did not tell my family ahead of time for fear of what they would say. MOM, DAD, FAMILY, FRIENDS, I am alive and well....I of course did go to the pub for a drink afterwards in celebration of a successful jump. Its a great day to be alive!
