the start of renaisance
this was our history of archidecture trip juste before we had our final
examination, to tie up the group a bit more, we could choose the city
we wanted to visite ourself and had a voting (like we love to do it in
switzerland!) the main choise was between prag and florence, florence
won very tied.
we all got there with an overnight train from zurich. our teacher is a selfcalled expert of florence and was really glad that he didn't needed to go to paris again! he showed us around in the first morning, we saw first the church "basilica san lorenzo" with the very impressive dome inside, than we wondert around the market that was very close from there, after everyone got the fact that italy is no-more a cheap country!! we went to the dome place and went all together up the giotto tower, from there you have the most amasing view of this remarcable town! in florence there is the law that your not allowed to build a roof in a diffrent colour than terracotta, so the whole town looks so amasing!! a place where you can stand for hours without getting bored!
after getting down, we had a guide showing us around, telling us everything about renaissance and giotto (who she was particuarly in love with!) one of those guides with a microphone and speakers around her neck! but she was allright, i was impressed how massiv the renaissance archidecture was, i kind of thought that it 'll be a bit more delicate, in florence it's easy to picture life around 1600, the whole street structure is still the same and you have the horse hooks on every house! she showed us a big part of the centre including the palazzo vecchio with the fake davis infront (the real one is in the museum accademia dell arte, there is a fake one because of danger to disroy it from someone or juste because the weather nowerdays is much more acid as it was in the past) from there we went to the "santa croce" church, where you find the very impressiv graves of michael angelo and dante .

after that much on our first day we all deserved a good pizza!
next day we went to see the real david in the accademia dell arte, i kind of expected more after hearing how wonderful it was from our teacher for the last 2 months! but the museum was big and had plenty of other things to see!
the rest of the day we could do what ever we wanted so me and some friends went on the mission to find a supermarket, a very difficult one, we were walking for 2 hours untill we found one (where the ... do the people in this town buy food!) we set down in a square with many pigeons and made us some cheap but tasty sandwiches (this town really is expensiv! did you know that in italy you pay more if you sit in a coffee than juste standing! incredible!)
