Why I Love My Job

I had a doctor's appointment this morning, so I came to school a little late. I walked in around 10:30, while the kids were finishing up circle time with Sonya. As soon as I opened the door all the Eagles' faces shot up and looked at me with 20 of the most adoring and amazing smiles I have ever seen. It was like they hadn't seen me in years. I smiled at them and said quietly, "Good morning, Eagles!" and tried to go over to my desk. Just as I was putting my bag down, Sue ran over and tackled me in a huge hug, and then James, and then Eileen, and then Eugene and before I knew what was happening all 20 of them were literally on TOP of me yelling, "Sarah Teacher!! SARAH TEACHER!! I love you. Sarah Teacher, I miss you!! Oooo, don't be late, Sarah Teacher! I love you!! I MISSSSSS you!!" They were like little tiny puppies who were too excited and couldn't stop wiggeling. I can't imagine starting my day any better. Gracious, I just love them so much.
