Coroico Travel Blog › entry 39 of 63 › view trip summary

From Feb to Sep 06 I visited every country except Paraguay and the Guianas (no offence to Paraguayans!). To see an overview, click on the photo to the left then "View Trip Summary". Highlights were Patagonia (Arg, Chile), Cordillera Blanca (Peru) and kitesurfing in Is. Margerita, Venezuela!

La Paz to Coroico MTB - "Worlds Most Dangerous Rd"

I set off with the company aptly named "Gravity Assisted Mountain Biking" to do the popular decent down the so called "Worlds Most Dangerous Rd". The person who named it that obvously hasn't been up Jacobs Ladder in Tassie! It's not too bad apart from the trucks that come winding around blind corners to meet you head on... and downhill traffic has to move towards the cliff edge to give way! The decent went from 4000 something to 1000 something meters... it was a relief to get to some breathable air after being at altitude for a few weeks! I got on the bus back to La Paz after lunch in Coroico to get some sleep before and early flight to the jungle...
