Africa Cafe

Random stuff from Cape Town and around South Africa, Mozambique etc
Summary - a good intro spot for tourists.

Africa Cafe offers a nice intro into the cooking and food of Africa. You are served a 16 course tasting meal (called the African Feast) of dishes from around Africa, though mostly from tribes in southern and eastern africa.

You won't find many locals there, mostly tourists (and the odd tour bus too), but I like it as a way of introducing foreigners to a wide range of tastes and styles in a short space of time.

The food is well prepared (even if it is pretty basic) and you can eat as much as you want (you can re-order and of the dishes when you get to the end). Some of the highlights include a mango chicken dish and small balls of sweet potato with cinnamon crusted with sesame seeds.

Would I go again - absolutely. Would I go every month - not a chance.

In SA terms it is quite pricey (about R170 a head - £13), but that does include all food, dessert and coffee.
