Big Ben 9:49 AM

Woke up at about 2 AM, watched TV in my room until I could get breakfast.  BBC, there was an American baseball game on, stuff about the World Cup ... etc ...  Eventually the kitchen was open downstairs - full English breakfast was included in the price: 1 egg, toast, bacon (not what American's would call bacon though), skinned tomato & a hash brown/potato wedge thingie.

Lots of walking today.  Main sights: Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.  I got to Big Ben just before 10 AM.  I stood around to hear it toll the hour & some security guy thought I was a threat.  Even after I tried to explain why I was just standing there, he didn't seem to understand why.  Oh well, all & all a pleasant day.

In England it seemed more like what we would just call a slice of ham .. or, heh, Canadian bacon. Here it's thinner (both thickness, and width) and longer, and usually crispy.

Whats the bacon like in th States? It doesn't seem that any country has the same definition of bacon, but I'm going on English bacon being the original :)
