St. Petersburg
We arrived in St. Petersburg on the train. After crossing the border we were a bit concerned that Linda`s visa had not been stamped properly but there was nothing we could do as the passport officials had left the train before we got our passports back.
We managed to negotiate the metro & its amazingly long escalators & locate the All Seasons Hostel. The hostel is well equiped although unfortunately it seems to attract large noisy school groups.
Once we were settled into the hostel we got the metro back into the centre and our first sight of the 'Saviour on the Blood' church in the distance literally took our breath away.
St. Petersburg is an amazing place and there are so many things to see. Our favourite sights were the 'Saviour on the Blood', The Hermitage museum, Kazan Cathedral, Smolny Cathedral & the beautiful views across the many rivers winding through St. Petersburg.
