Over the next few years we hope to travel the world as much as possible between jobs and have sold our home to fulfil this dream.

Shanghai

We took the overnight train from Beijing to Shanghai.  We stayed at the international youth hostel Ming Town Hikers and it was probably the worst hostel we have stayed in so far.

Unfortunately we were left feeling disappointed with Shanghai as there was surprisingly little to do.

During our time here we had an evening stroll along the Bund, visited the old town and the temple of the town gods and went to Shanghai zoo which has a very disturbing collection of domestic dogs which are caged in terrible conditions!

On the plus side we found a great local restaurant serving up delicious meals and good beer for a decent price.
