Phewa tal lake

We were quite glad to leave the stresses of Kathmandu and arrive in Pokhara.  We stayed at the Noble Inn which had a pleasant garden and a relaxing atmosphere.

We spent our first couple of days relaxing and took a walk by the lake.  Wednesday was great fun as we hired a motorbike and scooter.  We went to Sarangkot which should give great views of the Annapurna mountain range but unfortunately it was too cloudy.  We also rode to Mahendra Gufa and the bat cave.

One evening we met up with Karen and Esther, some Dutch friends we met in Tibet and went out for a meal a few too many drinks in Club Amsterdam!

We were due to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek but unfortunately we both developed a severe bout of food poisoning.  We tried to shake it off over the next 3 or 4 days and attempted the trek but unfortunately it got the better of us and we turned back after a couple of days.

We decided to relax for a few days back at the Noble Inn, but neither of us were getting any better so we made a difficult decision to head back to Kathmandu before flying home.
