Over the next few years we hope to travel the world as much as possible between jobs and have sold our home to fulfil this dream.

Japan is such a well organised country that although we had to take 4 trains which took 7 hours to get to Matsumoto it all went extremely smoothly.  We also saw some great scenery along the way.

The hostel we stayed at was wonderful and the people running it were very friendly and helpful.

On our first evening we went to a traditional Japanese pub for some dinner.  To choose our meal we pointed at something on the menu and ended up with spaghetti bolognese.

We visited Matsumoto castle and were lucky enough to have a free goodwill guide to show us around and tell us all about it's history.  On our way back from the castle we were wandering the backstreets where we were lucky enough to see a festival procession taking place.

The following day we had a great time using the free bicycles available from the hostel.
