Me and Neil thinking about a dip.

Hello all.Arrived safely in Sao Paulo, first impressions were good...  these quickly faded! Sao Paulo is not the most interesting city in the world by far! We struggled there for 1 night deciding what to do. The following morning we woke in our degraded accomodation th the sound of the busy street outside. This was at 5:30am! - a quick check on the floor to see if there were any rats before putting my feet down then decided to risk electrocution whilst having a morning shower! Jon

Sao Paulo was a shock to the system - we´d read beforehand that it wasn´t very safe and that tourism was at a low there. Jon said it was the scariest city he´d been to - so it was a tad unsafe to say the least. City was deprived and lloked desperate....was full of tramps, run down buildings and areas, litter etc.

Gorgeous with rainbow to boot
Hotel (cough, splurt) was a sty. Missing chunks of carpet, wll plaster. Sockets hanging off walls, blah blah. It did have a shower though! Anyway we had a nice breakfast in a deli type place and then packed our things and scarpered sharpish. Neil

6th August - Iguazu Falls

Had a 15 hour bus overnight bus journey to Foz de Iguazu...the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. Lovely town, lots to do. Couldn´t get in low cost hotel so staying in Hotel Baveria....very nice. The Falls were stunning and took our breath away - the best natural thing I have ever seen (apart from you mum :-) ). We really could have stayed there all day. The noise and tiered drops were unbelieveable. The walkways carved right into the falls and you felt like you were inside. Truely fantastic. Had a look around a bird sanctuary too - 114 species. That was great too becasue you could walk inside the cages with the birds flying around you. Anyway off for a drink tonight as everything has been 100mph so far. Nice to just chill for a while. Love to all. Write soon. Neil

Iguacu was amazing can´t really add to neils description any further...apart from a pissing Toucan bit me!!!!

John can you get Neil some golf practice on the plane back to UK? We have an extension to Tuesday for semi if we do not complete 18 holes on the Monday - I wrote got a verbal reply not very happy Melly and others getting stuck in on our behalf! Have a great last week - details so far very limited you must be having a good time or bone idle! Cheers pete

First stop Askern? Looks like you spent the day in Toll Bar next!!! Don't forget the sunscreen and sleep on your back (not easy to get violated that way, apparently). Weather good here but it's still Donny and not SA. Will keep up with your progress, wish I was there. Gavin
