My stay in Lloret de Mar, Spain

Sometimes when you hear the name of a city or village, it instantly gives you a rash.. Well I had the same with Lloret de Mar, Spain. You have to know that for most Dutch people, Lloret de Mar is basically connected to Dutch youth, loads of alcohol, sex and partying.. I had never been there and didnt even want to think about going there..  If I go on a holiday I dont want to see only Dutch people, who I normally see every day (coz I'm Dutch ;)) and I dont want to party all nite long and wondering the next day how I came home, what i have done..etc etc..

Untill April of this year.. I had a holiday coming up (May Break) and my boyfriend and I really wanted to go somewhere with a bit of sun and which wasnt so expensive..  My boyfriend started talking bout his experiences with the Costa del Sol and Costa Brava.

. and then that word came.. "Lloret de Mar".. I felt the rash coming.. and as he said "Ow its wonderful over there! Great surroundings, nice people.. "  I felt the rash getting worse and worse.. 

We started searching on the Net for some hotels and trips.. and we ended up with this gorgeous hotel, not so expensive in.. yep Lloret de Mar. My boyfriend convinced me that the image I had of Lloret de Mar was only that way in Summer and not in May, cause then it was rather peaceful and quiet.

Anyways to make a long story short; we booked a trip to Lloret de Mar for 10 days by bus.. And I have to admit Lloret de Mar has got beautiful surroundings!! Of course there are loads of hotels, discos, pubs, shops.. I cannot deny that.. We lay on the beach, walked a lot, made a boat trip to Tossa del Mar, made a trip to Barcelona and had a great time!!

I still think its not my thing to go there in Summer, but I wouldnt mind going back someday (or to that area) during Spring or Fall.

So I had to alter my opinion.. have you ever had to do that??
