GREENLAND. From 32,000 feet.

I have made it to the usa at last. It was rather a difficult journey as i was delayed at Heathrow for an hour and therefore missed my connection flight at Pheonix, therefore i was 3 hours late getting into Vegas. I had been awaake for 24 hours when i got to the hotel and had to go pretty much straight to bed, but it was fantastic to see Si and Caz. The ole ticker was playing me up a little but after a good night sleep I felt alot better. My lung feels alot better and am sure it is slowly re-inflating.

Yesterday was very surreal as i went to a wedding at the Gracelands chapel for a friend of Si and Cazs' from their work. There were onlty 10  (although one of these was Elvis and one the minister) of us there. But it was an experience, especially when Elvis sang !! We had bit of a nightmare getting to the chapel though.

The view from Si and Cazs' room window at the sahara Hotel.
We were told it was a mile and a half down the strip, so we had an hour and a half to get there. HOWEVER, things are never that simple on our travels. In our infinate wisdom we decided to take in a bit of the local culture and do the english thing called 'walking'. We soon regretted this, the temperature was 41 celcius !!!  And there was little shade. There was a breeze but this was like being blown in the face by a hairdryer. All 3 of us really struggled. The wedding was at 5pm and by 445pm we hadn't found the chapel, and were getting very hot and fustrated, so we decided to get a taxi, even if it was for only a coulple of hundred yards. When we got in the taxi (with lovely air conditioning) the driver informed us that we had gone the wrong way down the strip and were heading away from the chapel !!! We got to the chapel at precisely 5, just in time.
Me after a good nights sleep.
After gatecrashing the wedding we then jumped into the limo with the bride and groom, thanks Lorna and NIck.

We also went out and got our hire car yesterday, a gert big SUV 4x4. Lots of room for our luggage, took me a couple of miles to get the hang of the automatic transmission, but it couldn't have been that scary driving as Caz didn't grab my knee once !!

Tonight we are hitting the casino, we all have our limit and will stick to it ! Although I Do not understand how to play half the games.

I will try to update you all when we get to San Francisco at the end of this week Monday we will drive 400miles to Yosemite through the Nevada desert. Nothing can go wrong here, surely !!

Cheers folks. Love mad simon.

P.S. Carol the e-mail adress you gave me is wrong again !!! I will contact you somehow. Hope your water works are better !!
