This is about my move to Poland, trying to learn a new language, exploring and getting familiar with another culture.

Quality hotel in a great location
This is a great hotel for business travelers. In addition to my experiences here, this is the hotel of choice for people traveling to Warsaw with my company. The location is great – right in the middle of the central business district, across the street from the Palace of Culture and Science and very close to the Zloty Tarasy Shopping Center and the central train station. It’s also about a 20-minute walk from the Opera, Old Town, and many of the sights that are of interest to tourists coming here.

The rooms are very nicely decorated, clean, with comfortable beds and just about everything you could want in a bathroom... Security is also good – you need your room card/key to get the elevator to your floor. Breakfast is great – with a large buffet with plenty of options including eggs and omelets done to order. There was even a lady playing the harp which seemed to do a lot to curb the noise in the busy breakfast dining room. Be sure to get breakfast included in your room rate – if you pay for it separately it’s around 95 PLN and included in the room price it’s much less.

There is a nice bar and restaurants on the first floor – including one offering Mexican style food which I’ve tried a couple times and was ok. There’s also a Wedel Chocolate Café which has great hot chocolate and desserts (on the ground floor). In general, the hotel staff that I have encountered in various visits has been professional and correct but not too friendly.

Be sure to check out the swimming pool and gym on the 43-44th floor. The facilities are very good and the view is spectacular.

Transportation: be forewarned that if you take one of the hotel’s taxis to the airport you will be paying over twice what it would cost you if you use a regular taxi service. I’ve heard of people paying up to 80 PLN for a hotel taxi when a normal one should be 40 PLN or less! I hope this is useful for someone!
