Park Lazienki
This is the largest park in Warsaw and is a great place to spend a weekend morning or afternoon. Right in the downtown Srodmiescie disctrict of Warsaw, it feels like you're out in the country somewhere. During the summer there are fantastic piano concerts by the Chopin Monument, but any time of the year, it's a nice place for a stroll. Lazienki park was initially opened in the seventeenth century. It gets its name "Lazienki" from a bathing pavillion that was located there. Yesterday I went for a walk there and enjoyed the cool air and autumn colors of the trees. It was nice to watch people feeding the peacocks and wander around the lakes, palace, orangery and the roman theater. I still haven't visited the interior of the Palace on the Water, but one of those days I'll get around to that too. Elections will be held here later this month, and there were a few well-known politicians passing out election materials and answering questions.
