This is about my move to Poland, trying to learn a new language, exploring and getting familiar with another culture.

Boars in Piaski

Saw wild boars along and on the road in Piaski. They didn't seem too interested in us!

Piaski is the end of the line on the Vistula Sandbar.  After this village you are right on the Russian border.  You have to be careful in this entire area if you have your cell phone with you as you most likely will be getting coverage from the Russian telephon company which is extremely expensive!

Also, hikers have to be careful not to cross the border unknowingly because the Russian border police actively look for people in this situation and I've been told that getting back can become a very expensive and time consuming problem!  If you're driving it's not likely to be a problem because you will reach a barrier, but if you're walking along the beach or in the forest you may not realize that you've gone too far!

As I wrote earlier, in Piaski we were surprised to see wild boars out on the street and on the side of the road foraging for food.  There still aren't many tourists around at this time of year, so the animals are probably more comfortable being out and about.  I took a few pictures of them from the car.

The whole area is beautiful with green forests and the bay in the background.
