These Are the Days

"These are the days we will remember. These are the times that won't come again. And you've got to live them while you can." -These Are the Days, Keith Urban
There isn't much better than driving through gorgeous Greek country scenery with these lyrics by Keith Urban pumping into my head. Anytime before leaving that I told someone I was spending 3 months in Greece they told me how lucky I was and what an incredible oppurtunity it was. And lets be completely honest, when will I ever get another chance like this? Next to never. Maybe a few weeks here and there internationally, but living and becoming part of the culture and lifestyle? These truly are the days I will remember.
Today we hiked up this mountain island thing with a medieval town and castle on it in Monemvasia. I have never seen anything like it. The pictures we took were amazing but they can never capture everything we saw. When we reached the very top with the castle I sat on a wall by the edge while the rest of us climbed the castle wall pieces because my knee was a little sore. I looked out at the water and the mountains and was just in awe. I talked with God up on a mountain...kind of like a Moses-moment. I don't think I would say I prayed because it was nothing formal, although prayer doesn't have to be formal. But just kind of let my heart out a little. Not a lot, and not enough.l..but its a start. My time here in Greece isn't just an educational and cultural experience...its a healing process. I guess that leaves me in Greece with an open heart and an open mind. My only regret of today? Not praying when I stood in the ruins of Corinth in the footsteps of Apostle Paul.
