Later on, we joined the crowd at the Autodesk afterparty, which was on the USS Midway aircraft carrier! You read it well, on the Midway. The lower deck and inside aircraft warehouse was filled with aircraft simulators, and you could get dinner at the buffet here.
The point of view at night from the Midway is actually very nice, since you get a very decent view of SD skyline, and you can spot every plane about to land at the airport!
While there was a DJ featured at the lower deck, the poor guy had to create a lively and friendly atmostphere out of those whatever-the-size sq. feet room and hundreds of people. I'm afraid it was too hard of a job for any DJ (with the limited speakers he had and given the people attending). I would have loved seeing something crazy going on in this place however!
We retreated to the Chapters party held at a club downtown named "On Broadway", smartly named after its location, which was very good. It's strange to enter a club where the dancefloor is on the main floor, but why not (I'm used to go down a fair number of stairs before getting to the action) People were dancing, so there was some cool vibe going on until the end, 1:45am unfortunately ("biggest disapointment of the trip" award). The DJ played a remix of Justice - D.A.N.C.E. as the last song, though, which was quite funny to hear over there.
And there ended another great day in SD...
