Yay! Another cool day in SD!
Let's skip Saturday for now, I'll post-edit this blog to add yesterday, and let's concentrate on today while it's fresh in my mind.
Soooo, it began by the end of Sandbox conference, pretty nice with interesting stories and stuff, then a bit of SIGGRAPH which was officially begining today. The convention center is pretty nice, there are even Starbucks inside! The conference itself is huge, lots of people, tons of booth to check out.
About SD itself now, I had lunch at the Brasilian restaurant Rei del Cado (or something similar), a churrascaria just like in Rio! How cool! While it's hard to recreate the busy atmosphere of a real churrascaria, the food was really good and they even had Guarana soft drinks! I did not hear that much portuguese however, which sucks, I wanted to practise more...
I did a quick hop to Balboa Park as well, wich is pretty nice. While I would not consider it a park itself (since there are not many pathes you can walk), it is a very big square of trees, grass and cultural attractions (museums for the most of it). A nice oasis in the middle of the city.
Tonight I went back to Bondi for dinner, a slick Australian bar/restaurant, with great food (props to the rare-grilled ahi tuna). Earlier on was sake drinking at Grand Hyatt for the Softimage party...
The more I see of SD, the more I love it! It's really pleasant to have a nice and relaxed city with the ocean that close!
More to come!
