a real suprise

A real surprise, this well to do town. A lot of nice shops, bars and restaurants. The churches are big and ornamented, and there is a great botanical garden. Every Sunday afternoon locals go for a passeggiata, a walk through town dressed to kill.

Under the “portici” every few weeks there is an antiques/brocante market. Loats of stands, and loads of euro’s. Chiavari is very nice for an afternoon drink and some good shopping. There are very good focacceria’s here!.

Just a few hundred metres east of the train station there is a good and affordable underground car park. Put your car here when going to genova, cinque terre or the other beachfront towns. The trains are cheap and stop everywhere.
