I live and work in the Washington, DC, metro area. I'll use this blog to introduce you to the many neighborhoods and sights in the District of Columbia. We'll visit some little-known spots around Washington and see the famous ones, too! So, come on along as we explore The District. I'll be continually adding more to it, check back!

Washington by Night

The Capitol and major monuments in Washington, DC, are beautifully illuminated at night. A family Holiday outing to the Kennedy Center to see the new London production of My Fair Lady also provided an opportunity for everyone to view the illuminations. Building codes in Washington prevent the construction of very tall commercial structures, so the monuments amd other lighting effects can be seen from nearly any point in the city at night.
