Eva & Diana
Common! I can't be the only one slapped in the face by the similarities strattling both time and the Atlantic between Maria Eva Peron [Argentina] and Princess Diana [U.K.]. Both married men of power, both from the working class, both died fairly young, and both used their position to give back to the people. They both had blond hair too. This past week's visit to the Musuem de Eva taught me a lot about her life and works in regard to Argentine politics. While Princess Diana wasn't in a position of actual government she was also able to point the spot light and bring attention to issues of her choice. Come to think of it, Eva Peron never actually made it to a vice presidency. All her work was completed as "the president's wife." Impressive! Looking back at the funeral processions, both Eva and Diana followers massed the streets and wept. They were loyal util the end.. just as Eva and Diana were to them. The only article I could find on google that acknowledged Eva and Diana's similarities is at: http://www.nzine.co.nz/life/queenoftarts.html However, the article just briefly mentions the two's ability to generate the adoration of the masses. For all the adoration Eva Person had, she also made many enemies. Having studied Eva Peron intensively this past week we know her enemies. Now the question that begs is what enemies did Diana acquire? A great source of conspiracy theories that I've been checking out resides here: http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/talk/news/diana_conspiracy_theories.html. Hopefully the future holds more light to shed on issues which will allow a more in depth compare and contrast of these two highly political and similar figures.
