Departure ´´Personal Note

As I prepare to depart from Buenos Aires I´m confronted with a thought..  What does Atlanta have that Buenos Aires doesn´t?  Vice versa..what does Buenos Aires have that Atlanta does not?  So I decided to do a brief contrast and comparison.  We as U.S. citizens consider ourselves number one..but what is it that separates us?  Do we simply have an unfounded superiority complex?  Living in Buenos Aires for the past month has been an amazing experience..Im very sad to leave.  Talking to my good friend Augustine..(an Argentine who co-oped at GaTech), he says the main differences are that Buenos Aires is much larger, Atlanta has a more diverse peoples, women in BA are hotter,  public transportation is much better in BA, and Atlanta is more secure.  I personally agree with all of these points.  I´d add that pubs & clubs in BA stay open much later than in Atlanta (where the night life usually ends around 3am).  During the U.S. Civil War most of Atlanta was burned to the ground...having to be rebuilt.  Buenos Aires seems to retain the old architecture that´s indicative of its European roots.  Additionally, Buenos Aires is beginning to attract more tourists than ever before..an industry Atlanta seems void of.  Much more poverty seems to exist in BA..after all Argentina is a 3rd world country.  On the micro-level days seem longer in BA..perhaps that´s merely because I´m abroad with less to do.  The food is of a more European cousine and water is offered carbonated.  Stray dogs roam the day-lit streets in Buenos Aires...the poverty stricken recyclers claim the night.  It never fails to amaze me noticing the enormously different ways one lives a life..and at the same time...the things that~´ll stay the same no matter where you are.  People and life are diverse the world round...needs are constant.
