Greek temples.
July 25, 2007
We visited here after seeing Pompeii. The temples are in amazingly good condition, despite being from the 6th century BC. All are standing to their true height (approx 30 ft) with complete sides and floors. It's as if they are "only" 500 years old. Each temple is approximately 100 yards in length by 40 yards wide. I thought Paestum was far more impressive than Pompeii as the buildings are actually in good condition and stand tall.
Janet Street-Porter was also there when we visited, so I'm sure I'm right on this.
