Arrived in Chicago about 5 minutes early, had spoken with Phil, Richard and Jimmy on the cell phone. As I left the station, I noticed how cold it was in Chicago today. I miss the desert already! They were running a little late getting to the station. I only had to wait about 10 minutes outside before they picked me up.

Richard Vobes and his buddy Jimmy do a 30 minute radio show from Worthing, England everyday. I have been fortunate to be a part of the show for the past year. This was the first time that I was meeting the boys in person.

They were ending a 2 week trip around Middle America, all paid for by their listeners. My contribution to their trip was to take them, and Phil, to a Chicago Cubs baseball game at Wrigley Field.
Will the game be canceled?

We made it to my hotel, I took a quick shower while they went to a nearby pub. They bought me a Guinness and we watched it rain outside, wondering if the game would be canceled. We walked the 10 blocks or so to the field and found our seats. The game eventually started about an hour and 15 minutes late.

Phil and I did our best to explain the concept of baseball to Richard and Jimmy. As they were tired from their travels and I was myself, we left after the 4th inning and went to a traditional English pub for some fish and chips and beer. We talked about our trips and the upcoming 500th show. I had a great time with them and was sorry to see them leave. Even though the time we were able to spend together was short, it was great to finally meet them in person.

I fell asleep quickly back at my hotel around 1am.
