A charming village by the sea, an unexpected competition and an even more unexpected argument
May 1, 2007
The next day wasn't as sunny as the previous one but still, the weather was nice and the temperature warm.
The girls decided to take me to a nearby village named -Collioure-.
I wish to mention how great the girls have been in their role of tourist guides and hostesses!
I have never been received so well anywhere!!
I felt like I was a queen or something... or maybe an alien from another planet but I prefer to think like a queen! :)
They kept saying : "You afforded the flights to come and see us, it is the least we can do!"
I now can't wait for them to either come to Skye or to Montreal so that I can pay them back and offer to them what they did for me!
So anyway, about 45 minutes drive (if I remember well) from Port-Barcares, we visited Collioure.
It was busy actually.
Loads of coaches and stuff.
But still, it wasn't over crowded and we managed to walk pleasantly through the streets.
Not many!
Anchovies shops everywhere!
Sad I don't like it! :)
Not much to report about the place.
What you see on the pictures is what you get.
A nice place to spend a nice afternoon.
So, we had a look around the village and then decided to get back to the car and drive our way back.
We stopped for a sandwich on some beach and as the weather was changing, headed back to the condo.
Watched a movie, had food.
Made up a snails competition...
What's left to do on a day at the beach when it's raining? Tell me!
Yeah, so snail racing it was!
Great fun though... for 3 minutes! :)
Haha, I just remember something...
Anecdote:
we had just finished tea and to make up conversation,
I asked the girls what was their opinion about Zidane's gesture towards the Italian player that probably cost France the World Cup... ;)
It was just to have them talk a little, simply to waste some time...
God, the argument that followed!!!
That was awesome!
I love you French people!!! ;)
Another great evening.
Next morning, we were heading back home... Toulouse, my home in France.
