Tokyo 2007
This was a quick two day trip to Tokyo so I didn't get to see much. It was basically a tack on to my China trip. My arrival was the same as other times to Tokyo, very frustrating to get to the hotel. I rode a hotel shuttle from Narita to New Otani Hotel, but had so many stops that I arrived to my hotel 1:15 later.
Upon arrival I was extremely hungry so I found the Washoku Chiyoda Ku sushi bar in the retail level of the hotel. This was a very unusual sushi experience for me. I was assigned my own sushi chef (at the sushi bar) and ordered a sushi chef special so I had no idea what he would bring. Each creation he served separately rather than preparing everything and then serving it. This was very nice as the sushi was even more fresh this way. His assistant brought a live jumbo prawn. The chef quickly prepared it and I ate it raw which is not usually smart with shellfish. Anyway it was really good and then I had to eat the barbequed prawn head.
