The Underground City and William Wallace
May 21, 2007
This was our heavy sightseeing day. We started by walking up the Royal Mile. I really wanted to go to Real Mary King's Close, so we did that. It was also really interesting and informative, I'm really glad we went. It was a bit spooky, it's an underground city. Then we continued walking, up to Castle Hill. At the Edinburgh Castle they were setting up for some concerts and the Tattoo and we didn't go in the castle because it was really expensive. But we looked at it for a while. Then we walked back down the hill where we ran into a guy who was dressed up like William Wallace. Then we went into the National Museum of Scotland and learned some more Scottish history. We walked to the statue of Greyfriars Bobby, which we had learned about the previous night on the ghost tour. We went back to the hostel and it turned out it was trivia night, where we met some other Canadians to form team Canada..we actually came in 2nd place.
