riomaggiore, the town we stayed in

So we got up and packed all our stuff up and took the shuttle to the train station. We were a little early so we walked around for a bit and then got some food. We got on the train and we had to change trains in Milan. When we got to Milan we realized that we had to rearrange the trains we were taking so we got get to Riomaggiore. But it all worked out in the end. We got to Riomaggiore and walked up to the reception area at our hostel. We were greeted by an old Italian man who took us to our room. The hostel/budget hotel was split up in different parts of the city. He said ours was only like 5 minutes away. Riiight. The hike t our room was probably the most physically demanding thing ever.

The old man was laughing at us and he even offered to carry my backpack, which I politely declined. If he could do it I could do it right? Well, I guess he does it everyday. But still. He kept saying it would be worth it when we got to our room. Well, it was. The view was amazing, we had our own little deck. There were 2 other people in our room. Can't remember there names, but they were a little strange. We settled in, Lori and I had to share a queen sized bed. We started talking to our roomies and then decided to go for dinner with them.

We walked from Riomaggiore to Manarola for dinner. The walk was gorgeous, the sun was just setting. It was beautiful, I couldn't believe that I was actually there! We had dinner at a little restaurant in Manarola. It was soo good. I had a pasta with seafood, it was amazing, soo delicious. The walk back was really dark though, the paths aren't very well lit. But there are lights shining on the ocean, which is really cool. We hiked back up to our room and went to bed, we were going to go on the hike to the rest of the cities tomorrow.
