We got into Heathrow airport at noonish on the 13th of May. I was expecting the airport to be a lot nicer, but the roof was leaking and it seemed pretty ghetto. It didn't take that long to get through customs. The tube line was down at the airport so we had to take a bus to the next station. When we got outside it was raining..of course. There were also a TON of people there waiting for the same bus. When we got on my first interaction with a Londoner was elbowing him in the face..nice. We took the tube to Picadilly Station and finding our hostel from there was not hard. We stayed at Picadilly Backpackers, it was pretty bad but you can't beat its location. We checked in and the staff were so rude. We left our bags there and walked around London! We were so excited, had no map and no idea where to go, but we didn't care, we just wandered. We stopped at a little restaurant in Leicester Square that was alright. Lori had her first European alcoholic drink there, which was disgusting. Then we found Trafalgar Square, which was amazing. We kept walking and somehow got to a place where we could see the London Eye, then we walked back to our hostel. There we met 2 girls from Michigan that gave us some tips of things to do in some of the places we were headed. They told us about a pub crawl in Amsterdam that we ended up going on and had a great time.
