So today is France's birthday! And Lori's 19th birthday as well! I didn't get back to the hostel until reeeally late..6am I think..and I woke up at 9 to meet Lori for the parade(don't ask...haha). I also had to pack up all of my stuff and put it in storage because I had to switch rooms again! 3 days in Paris and 3 different rooms. The day before she made me a list of stuff to pack in her bag for her that day so I did that and I took both our backpacks with me. I woke up Chris and told him I was leaving to meet Lori and we planned to meet there.

I took a couple different metro trains to get to the Champs Elysees to meet up with Lori. When I got there I figured there would be no way in hell I would randomly run in to her! There were sooo many people there, I couldn't even see the road.

I wandered aimlessly for a while just hoping to see her, and eventually I did! I just walked past her and didn't even see her and she noticed me, thank god! So I 'watched' the parade with her. We basically couldn't see a thing..I saw the tops of some tanks. Woohoo. But it was pretty sweet anyways, and some fighter jets flew above us and sprayed out the colors of the French flag, which was cool.

After that we had some lunch and then we did a little shopping. We bought matching Roxy Paris shirts and Lori bought some new sandals to replace the ones she lost in Barcelona. When we were in line the guy infront of us was the biggest ass! He was yelling at the guys working and then talking to us like we were going to sympathize with him! Hes the kind of idiot that give North American tourists a bad name.

Then we headed to the Arc de Triumph. We took some pictures of it and then decided to go to it. Well apparently there are underground stairs to it, but that was news to me because we figured the only way to get across was to run, and thats exactly what we did. It was pretty intense, there were a lot of cars. Lots of people honking at us. I bet every single one was thinking 'stupid tourists' haha, but thats what we were! We looked around that for a bit and then ran back across the street. Lori phoned her sister who then informed us there were stairs! I think the way we did it was much more fun though.

After that we took the metro to the stop near Notre Dame. We walked down this street which is a total tourist trap! There were so many souvenir shops, I bought a shirt for me and my mom and some souvenirs for our friends(mini eiffel towers.

.what else?). Then we got to Notre Dame and there was a bit of a line but we were in in no time. And it was free, which was sweet. We looked around inside there for a bit, its gorgeous inside!

We then went back to our hostel for a bit before heading back out to the Eiffel Tower to see Nelly Furtado give a free concert!!! We were so excited, I loove Nelly, shes amazing. Bob Sinclair was also there but at the time I had no idea who he was, looking back that makes me sad because he's awesome! But Nelly was soo good. It was so busy there though it was crazy. After watching Nelly we went to get some food. We decided to go to this little bakery because there was a big line, so we assumed it must be good. It was pretty good too.

From there we headed back to the Champs de Mars to watch the fireworks.

We figured we had the best seats, we had a great view of the Eiffel Tower...that was until the fireworks started. We had a great view of the top of the tower, the fireworks apparently are set off from the river so we could barely see them! We moved and got a bit of a better spot. It was so awesome though, they were playing really cool music and the fireworks were great, it was an awesome night. After the fireworks were over we just chilled on the grass for a bit and watched everyone leave. I had a really bad stomach ache so I wasn't really feeling up to doing anything. I felt really bad though because it was Lori's birthday, but we did do some celebrating the night before. So we just walked back to our hostel. I found my new room, which was right off the patio and the lights were broken. Woohoo.
