Back to London..

Edinburgh Travel Blog › entry 11 of 74 › view trip summary

My blog is finally finished!!!Me and Lori backpacked across Europe this summer and had the time of our lives and this is our trip! Also, Lori and I decided to rate our cities out of 10 because train rides are long and we get bored..so I thought I'd share those as we had a lot of fun making them. Heres the criteria /2 Hostel /2 People /2 Nightlife /2 Sites /2 Weather /10 Total but each City can recieve bonus points for whatever we feel like giving it bonus points for.

Back to London..

On the 22nd we walked up Princes street to Carlton Hill(I think thats what its called) and walked around there for some sweet views of the city. It was actually pretty chilly though and also reeeally windy. Actually, the whole time we were in Edinburgh it was pretty windy, is it always windy there? Anywho, on our way there we went into a cemetary and walked around it for a while. It was really interesting, we spent quite a while there, there were some really old tombs. That evening we had to go back to the station to take a train back to London.

city rating number 3

EDINBURGH:
1.5/2 Hostel
1/2 People
1.5/2 Nightlife
1.5/2 Sites
1/2 Weather
Total 6.5/10

Because we had such a good time at the St. Christophers in Bath we booked this one as well. It wasn't as good but it wasn't bad either. Our room was ridiculously tiny though. There were 6 beds cramped into a tiny room, luckily there was only 4 of us in there though. The rooms had tiny ensuite bathrooms which was nice. The common room was pretty big and had a lot of books and things and a TV but there was noone in it when we were there. There was internet access as well. There are 2 bars downstairs which are both good. One of them was actually playing the NHL playoffs which was awesome! One of the nights there was a big trivia game with prizes that was a lot of fun. The staff were really nice here too. The location is really good, right in between the Royal Mile and the Princes street area. We could walk everywhere. Also, it is literally right across the street from the train station.
