So we got up the next morning not really sure what to do. We wanted to take the cogwheel to the top of Mt. Pilatus but the weather was so crappy we decided it would be a waste of money. We were sitting having lunch trying to decide what to do, looking through our Eurail book seeing if we wanted to take a little day trip. We saw that a train went to Interlaken in 5 minutes so we made a last minute decision to go to Interlaken.
We booked it to the station and found the train and got on. We barely made it and as we walked down the aisle we found a couple of empty seats, almost next to eachother. Luckily we made that train because so did a college football team from Ohio. We were sitting with a few of the players, needless to say we were pretty excited.
We split up with our football player friends, but they told us the hotel they were in and said we could go say hi if we got bored. We had no idea what to do in Interlaken, plus it was pouring rain, so we just kind of wandered around until we decided we were hungry and met up with a couple of the guys from the train and had dinner at a small Italian restaurant.
Then Lori and I walked to the train station to back to Lucerne. While on the train we heard an announcement but didn't understand us when a train attendant informed us we would have to get off at the next station. He said there was only a 50% chance we would get back to Lucerne, which made us a tad worried and we said all our stuff's in Lucerne! and the guy said 'okay, 60% chance'. That made us feel a lot better. We had to get off the train and then get on a really ghetto bus. We had no idea where to get off and someone told us that this one stop was for us, so we got off and then an old lady ran up and said 'No, no this train station doesn't work, no train to Lucerne', so we ran back to the bus and pretty much had to bang on the doors to get back on. I'm pretty sure the whole bus was laughing at us.
Eventually we did get back to Lucerne though, luckily we weren't stuck in the mountains! It was awesome though, so exciting.
