map reading on the train
We left Lucerne in the morning on our way to Munich
. The train was really nice but unfortunately we had to switch in Zurich so we didn't get the nice train the whole way there. Oh well. We got into Munich and it was pouring rain. Our hostel was 800 meters from the train station. 800 meters is a really long way in the rain. We found the right street and walked down the street to the Easy Palace hostel. It seemed like forever, it was soo wet. Lori got splashed by a tarp that fell down when we walked under it. We finally got to our hostel and checked in. The room was pretty nice, we were soo tired we just fell into our beds..which were very comfortable. We weren't sure what to do that night when our roommates walked in the door. Billy and Melissa. They became 2 of our best friends in Europe. They were awesome, we talked to them for a long time, they were from Oklahoma and NYC. It felt like we had known them forever! We decided to go to this bar called Kings and Queens. We found it and it was pretty lame so we went to the Hofbrauhaus. It was awesome, we sat next to some German-Italians and had some litre beers and sausages and sauerkraut. The atmosphere there is awesome, we had so much fun. We ran into some people from our hostel and we stayed there until closing. After that we left and went to Kings and Queens for some ridiculously expensive drinks. That was a really awesome night, Munich is an awesome city, even in the rain.
