Ruins

I'm in Chile for the semester finishing up my International Minor in Engineering (Latin America) by taking classes on Latin America's culture, music, history, etc. I'm also rapidly becoming more fluent in Spanish!

Ruins

Today we went to Tipon and Pikillaqta. I really enjoyed both as they were not crowded, but still really neat. I wish the sites had more information about them, as after paying we were just left to wander and make up our own stories about how the Quechua people used these places.

For only about US $10 we got a private bath, private room, towels, breakfast, free internet, and a huge selection of movies to watch. The staff at this hospedaje are very helpful and go out of their way to make everything perfect. They even booked us two very good tours (one of Machu Picchu and one of the Sacred Valley). If you're coming to Cusco you should definitely stay here!
I really liked these ruins because they weren't crowded. You are able to walk all over the ruins at your own pace and enjoy the ingenuity of the Incas. The only problem with the ruins is that it is a bit tricky to get there. If you want to go cheaply it's possible, but a bit of a hassle (we used a micro and then a taxi and then a micro). If you want to pay a taxi driver for the whole day that's easier transportation but more expensive.
