Peru has beautiful plazas
We got into Cusco last night around 11, so not much time to see the city. Today we bought our boleto turistico and started seeing all the museums we could with the ticket. After seeing tons of other museums I wasn't super impressed with the museums, but I did enjoy the city. Compared to Chilean towns, Peruvian towns are much prettier with better architecture and beautiful plazas. All the plazas here have tons of flowers and are kept very clean.
Amidst the museums we decided to do a bit of wandering off the main drag just to see the city. It is very interesting to see all the indigenous culture mixing with the more modern culture in the streets and markets. I was surprised by how many women there are walking around in the very traditional garb that you always see in postcards of Peru, but didn't actually think existed. While wandering we went to see the Iglesia Belen where we were lucky enough to see a funeral procession with the 6 piece band and all the women carrying huge bouquets. We couldn't get in the church, but seeing the funeral was definitely a unique experience.
