I'm in Chile for the semester finishing up my International Minor in Engineering (Latin America) by taking classes on Latin America's culture, music, history, etc. I'm also rapidly becoming more fluent in Spanish!

Free Day

Today I decided not to rejoin the tour which was going to Moon Valley in the afternoon. In my free time I wandered a lot of the city, which is just as touristy as Pucon and Vina del Mar. It's also much more expensive. The archaeological museum is okay, but if you've been to the Museo de Arte Precolombino in Santiago you won't find the San Pedro de Atacama museum very interesting. The church in the town is a national monument, but isn't any more interesting than other churches. Overall I was rather disappointed by San Pedro de Atacama for it's lack of economical excurions and places to eat.
