I'm in Chile for the semester finishing up my International Minor in Engineering (Latin America) by taking classes on Latin America's culture, music, history, etc. I'm also rapidly becoming more fluent in Spanish!

Day 5 Pachamama by Bus

Today was my last day with the company tour. The first stop of the day was at the Tropic of Capricorn. Next we went to a train "museum" where all the old locomotives were parked. After we arrived to the Salar de Atacama. It was the most desolate place I have ever seen. I couldn't imagine living anywhere near the Atacama desert. Next we went to an oasis where there were small natural pools to swim and trees for shade :). We then went to the national park near San Pedro de Atacama that has the flamingos and stayed to see the sunset. We arrived into San Pedro around 9pm to a very basic hostel.
