Museo de Historia Natural

I'm in Chile for the semester finishing up my International Minor in Engineering (Latin America) by taking classes on Latin America's culture, music, history, etc. I'm also rapidly becoming more fluent in Spanish!
This is a little museum located on my walk to and from school that I finally decided to explore yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. It only cost me 300 pesos (about 60 cents) to get in, and it was worth the money. The museum focused on the natural history of the area around Concepción. It has lots of animals (stuffed), Mapuche artifacts, coal mining equipment, fossils, and good explanations of everything. My favorite part was the room that focused on how people in the area are trying to rejuvenate the eco-system after it was damaged by over-logging. There were some very creative ideas! If you're passing through Concepción and have an hour or two to kill, definitely stop by this museum and after rest a bit in the cute plaza next door.
