Today we decide we would go back to Danshui and take the boat ride out to Fisherman's Wharf and Bali Left Bank. We started out late in the afternoon around 3pm once the weather had cooled off again.
We took the MRT out to Danshui station and then strolled along the seaside promenade till we came to the place to buy ticket to go across to Fisherman's wharf and Bali Left bank. We were told we had to take the boat first to Fisherman's Wharf and then From there to Bali Left bank and after we could take the boat back from Bali Left bank to the Tamshui wharf.
We set off for Fisherman's Wharf.
We looked inside at the small market which sold souvenirs, leather goods and fresh seafood. Above the market was a bar, restaurant and live music which would be a nice place to sit and watch the sunset but as we had to head over to Bali Left bank we decided we would wait and have a drink there and watch the sunset from there.
We headed back to the wharf to get the boat over to Bali Left bank. Upon arrive we headed towards a large sculpture which looked like an astronaut. There were no signs to say what the statute was. We asked some local people and were told it was someone’s dream? I’m not sure what it was supposed to be but it was very large.
The boys had beers and I had Mai Tai whilst my mum had a Golden Dream. The beers arrived quiet quickly however the cocktails took almost 30 minutes to arrive. After having our drinks and watching the sunset we headed down to walk along the water front which was much the same as back at Danshui but a little shorter and less restaurants and shops.
It was almost 8.00pm now and the last boat was at 8.30 so we decide to head back over to Danshui (Tamshui Wharf) and catch the MRT back to the hotel area to get some dinner.
We headed to TGI Fridays for dinner and then explored the shops of XimenDing District and watched a fire twirling show for a bit before heading back to the hotel for the evening.
Another very busy day.
