Old Camp 6 logging camp
You can access Pt. Defiance 2 different ways, Take I-5 north or south to point Defiance, or you can take Ruston way which is a wonderful senic way to Pt. Defiance. There are plenty of shops,restraunts,museums,and coffee places. Old town tacoma offers plenty of history. Ruston way offers many waterfront restraunts,beaches,to walk on,paragliding,and views of the many islands in the puget sound, and the port of tacoma. Down town also offer the tacoma dome,the old amtrac station,museum of glass and many more. As you enter Point defiance you are welcomed with botanical gardens, japaneese gardens. Both beautiful places to wander through,have picnic's,family reunions, or weddings. Travel on to many points of intrest. The Zoo and Aquarium are to the left of you, to the right is a beautiful view of the puget sound,and lush tree's and greenery.

Traveling on you will enter the beautiful scenic views of 5 mile drive, owen beach, old fort nisqually, and camp 6 logging camp. Both offer many things to do and see. At camp 6 you can catch an old time train ride and learn about the history of logging camp 6. Travel on to the zoo and aquarium. Once here there is plenty of parking, wild peacocks wander the parking lot to greet you. Inside are a few gift shops and many places to get drinks,icecream,coffee and snacks. Stroll along to the aquarium to get wonderful views of our underwater wild life of hoodsport,the san juan islands, gig harbor, and the puget sound. Wander on further, to the zoo to see lots of wildlife, stop and see the little side shows and learn the history of bird watching and wild life around washington. You can see the beluga whales intertain there crowds, while talking,swimming, and doing acrobatic tricks for a few fish. playful walrus's taking a nice swim to avoid the heat. Bison chewing on grasses, artic foxes keeping watch over a mother duck and her gosslings, and much more. A great place for the family. After the zoo travel back to five mile drive and hit owen beach for beach combing,bird watching, BBQing,and people watching. I would highly reccommed visiting Pt. Defiance.
